Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident: 5,000-lb Load-Leveling Capacity

When you hitch up or haul a heavy load, rear-end sag can throw off your steering and braking. Firestone Ride-Rite air springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity between the frame and rear suspension, helping your truck stay level under weight. Keeping the bed and chassis even restores proper handling, improves braking performance, and keeps your headlights aimed where they belong.

Smooth Out the Ride: Adjustable Air Pressure from 5 psi to 100 psi

Every job is different, and these air springs adapt to whatever you’re hauling. You can fine-tune the pressure anywhere from 5 psi to 100 psi using the included manual inflation valves. Add air when towing or carrying uneven loads to stabilize the rear or balance side-to-side weight. Drop pressure when running empty for a softer, smoother ride that absorbs road shock instead of transferring it through the frame.

Built to Handle Real-World Loads: Double-Convoluted Rubber Construction

Each Firestone Ride-Rite spring uses a double-convoluted design with four layers of reinforced rubber and a braided wire girdle for strength. The rubber cushions contact between axle and frame to prevent bottoming out while maintaining stability and comfort. Corrosion-resistant metal end plates are sealed with a rolled crimp for secure attachment that holds up against years of heavy use.

Reliable Components Ready to Install

The kit comes with custom brackets, air springs, hardware, air line, and separate valves for manual inflation—everything needed to mount the system between frame and suspension. Optional switches, gauges, compressors, and air tanks are available separately if you want in-cab control later on. Once installed, the setup helps prevent permanent sagging, reduces tire wear, and keeps load distribution even across your rear axle.

Delivery was very quick. Everything I ordered came in great shape and complete.
I installed these air bags on a 2015 F250 for hauling our 5th wheel.
It took me around 5hrs more or less to install by myself. I have never done this before and kept checking everything twice. That and I used all hand operated tools. The instructions were good. But watching the installation video 1st was helpful.

by:

Ordered these for a 2015 F-250, 4WD, Diesel

To
start off, great price and delivery, kit was on my door 2 days after ordering.

Kit appears to be made of quality components and was complete.

Instructions were fairly clear with good pictures, but skipped steps that were repeated from left side to right and had some information backwards (e.g. parking brake information AND holes for securing brake cable were on wrong side). For the diesel units, there's a sensor control module that occupies the frame-rail area that the RH side upper mount attaches, which caused about an hour and a half of fiddling/drilling/re-routing harnesses to sort out. Again, this wasn't accounted for in any instructions or any videos, but is easy enough to accomplish (simply moved the module forward in the frame rail, required drilling new mount holes).

Bracket assembly is somewhat wonky/difficult due to the braketry's attempt at being "universal", but once assembled is solid.

Gas plumbing is also simple and more than enough hose is supplied (I had about 1.5x the amount I needed, so I've got enough left over for a spare should I tear/blow a hose out on the road).

Overall I'm satisfied with the finished product, but the installation process/universal fitment design can be frustrating to install. If I had paid a shop to do this, looking at the finished product, closer to a 4.5 star product, but the frustrations of personally dealing with this installation procedure drop that to a near average product review.

So far, I’m really pleased with these air bags. They arrived quickly, box was in good shape, with all of the parts accounted for. This was my first time installing air bags on a truck, and I had a buddy help me out who just installed a set on his F-350. The instructions were pretty straight forward, and we got them on in 4 hours. I elected to run the air lines in front of the back wheels, as it’s easy to inflate/deflate from that point. I haven’t hauled anything yet, but they definitely did a great job lifting the back end of my truck. Im happy with them, and anxious to put them to the test. I’d definitely recommend these air bags, as they seem to be great value for the price.

by:

They are very easy to install. The hardest part of installation was dealing with the bump stops. I have a B&W goose neck hitch and had to take part of the drivers side bracket apart to mount the bag but it was simple.

by:

I have not had a chance to install yet. Ordered and received my airbags the same week. I will update after I get them installed

It has performed great. No issues at all to adjust the air pressure dependent on the load.

I’ve been using them for over a year now and they still work great. Keeps truck level and riding smooth with our 25k pound fifth wheel.

by:

I needed something for my Travel Trailer (12k lbs), I have a Ford F250 and needed to level the truck with the Trailer hooked up, just about 2/3 inches.
These Air Springs have worked very well over the past year, we took the trailer for about 4000 miles (Louisiana to Grand Canyon) in April/May 2023, the Air Springs worked perfectly...

by:

Relatively easy to install. Provides leveling for an undersized weight distribution setup and performs flawlessly. I have been very pleased with this setup.

The Firestone air suspension is excellent. I used it to tweak the height with my toy hauler and now to level my truck with my fifth wheel. I may install an automatic system, but am very pleased with my current setup.

by:

High quality air bag!!. The install was straight forward after I found some good YouTube videos to assist. I have the B&W Turnover Ball gooseneck hitch installed and removed the driver side side plate on the hitch to make the install easier.

by:

These air bags have kept my truck level when I am pulling my large 5th wheel. Not to mention it has improved the ride while pulling. The installation was done by me and was not that bad at all. My only regret is not purchasing the compressor system (for convenience) but that is going to be ordered soon. This was a great purchase.

by:

Installed on 2014 F-250 Diesel with short bed. I have the B&W Turnover Ball and these products work well together. Installation required removing the B&W frame plate on the drivers side to access the DEF screw and I had to remove the large bolt on the passenger side frame plate to use the existing hole for the airbag mount, but not too big of a deal to retrofit.

PS. My truck did not have the exhaust sensor on the passenger side that some people have mentioned.

by:

Just installed the Ride Rite Helper Springs so I don't have any hauling use yet, just wanted new installers to know if you have a B& W companion 5th wheel hitch you will have to remove bolts from the driver side plate to pivot it up to remove the Def tank mount, other than that it was a fairly easy install taking about 3 hours with the Ford F350 up on jack stands with the rear tires off. I will try to update my review after towing our 42 foot 5th wheel RV to the west coast and back in June and July

by:

The one to two hour installation time is laughable if you have a B&W turnover hitch. I had to take the driver's side B&W plate off to mount the driver's side air bag. To get the the driver's side B&W plate, I had to drop the DEF tank. None of this was mentioned in the instructions. Passenger side was much easier. It took a total of 8 hours to install in my driveway on a creeper with my wife's help. Our marriage survived. This was was very difficult, and I would recommend doing it on a lift.
Also, there is a slow leak that I can't find.

by:

The installation video is very helpful however, when the tech in the video said there may be some modifications needed he was not kidding.
The level of work is quite a bit and do it yourself people should know it can get a little complicated especially if you do not have a lift.

Thank you for a nice product. Works very well.

The product is working well. It works so well that I am about to install the same kit on a 2006 Dodge Ram Megacab 2500 Diesel. Thank you for all your products I tell everyone I know that you have great products available.

by:

I’m a full time RV traveler pulling a 5th wheel trailer. While on the road I noticed that my rear leaf springs were running flat and up against the stop block. I researched air bags and decided to go with Firestone Ride Rite. I ordered them, had them delivered to the RV park we were at and installed them myself. Is was fairly easy to install and took me approximately 5 hours start to finish. They work exactly as promised. The only problem I had was one of the air lines I installed had a small leak. Upon further investigation I found what appeared to be a manufacturer defect in the tubing. I had extra line so it was no big deal. I would recommend them.

by:

These airbags completely change how my F250 drives with our cab-over camper in the bed. I can fly around mountain road corners and keep up with the regular traffic flow. I wish I would have spent the money years ago.
It took me and my teenage son about 8 hours to install them. I would say my mechanic skills and tool collection are fair to better than most.
The weakest link in this Firestone kit is the airlines. Leaked about 10 PSI weekly on passenger side, 5 PSI weekly on driver side. I wrapped silicon tape around connection joints and got the passenger side down to 5 PSI weekly and completely stopped the driver side from leaking.
Will purchase again for next truck.

by:

fit and works great

by:

Great product worked perfect on my 2014 4X4 F-250, I was a little worried because my truck is reverse leveled so it sits 2” lower in the rear but this setup had enough adjustability to work even being lowered.

by:

I just received my Firestone Ride-Rite air bags along with the Air-Rite compressor system. William helped me to order the correct parts for my application. I’m excited to get started!

by:

Thanks to the excellent installation video provided by etrailer, along with the reviews provided by other, the installation on my 2016 F-350 SRW went well. I have a B&W turnover ball hitch, and had to temporarily remove the driver side plate (thanks to a review from another installer, I knew to expect that) before I could proceed with the installation.

One suggestion on the video installation I would recommend: they removed (cut off) the hard wire parking brake holder on the driver side and relied solely on zip ties to relocate the parking brake cable. I shortened that bracket by removing the bracket from the truck with pliers and a large screw driver, by sawing off a portion, placing it in a vice, and making a new opening by bending it around a 3/8” bolt. Much better solution.

by:

Ryan did a great job keeping me informed throughout the shipping process.

by:

The ride improvement is great and the additional bracket PN F5722 was not needed for my 2016 F 250 CCSB diesel because the module in question is behind where the airbag mounts on the frame, see attached pics. I did exhaustive research on whether or not the bracket was needed and could not find a definitive answer. When the box arrived one of the saddle brackets was protruding through the side of the box and the box looked like it had been opened and re-taped. I opened the box and found that the hardware bag was opened so I took inventory of everything and it all appeared to be there going by the list in the installation manual. I have the factory puck system so I did have to notch a small section of the hitch frame to allow for the passenger side upper mount bolt to pass through. When it came time to secure the bags to the upper mounts, the supplied nuts were the wrong thread pitch, I ended up having to source two nuts locally to continue with the installation. Overall the installation was not bad, I removed the spare tire and backed up on a pair of ramps. I have not pulled my 5th wheel since I installed the airbags, I will update the review once I do.

by:

Only Half Way installed, currently 100 degrees. So waiting for cooling temperatures in a week or so

by:

This system I installed on my 2012 Ford F-450 dually pickup. I love it!! I replaced a air bag system that I had put on by so called professionals. It was terrible. It mounted under the spring shackles. It helped when puling a heavy loaded trailer but rode terrible otherwise. The system I bought from e-trailer uses air bags under the rear axles. It handles heavy loads when air up to 90 psi and rides smooth when empty at 25 psi. I recommend it highly.
